Old & Vintage Cars from Argentina

Vintage Old Cars Pre War to the early 60's

Topic: Old Cars of Argentina

I think that cars today are almost the exact equivalent of the great Gothic cathedrals: I mean the supreme creation of an era, conceived with passion by unknown artists, and consumed in image if not in usage by a whole population which appropriates them as a purely magical object. ~ Roland Barthes, "The New Citroen," 1957

The reason American cars don't sell anymore is that they have forgotten how to design the American Dream. What does it matter if you buy a car today or six months from now, because cars are not beautiful? That's why the American auto industry is in trouble: no design, no desire. ~ Karl Lagerfeld, German-born French fashion designer. Vanity Fair, Feb. 1992.

Our passion for cars has led us to research upon their history and design, to talk with those who came up with fabulous concepts and made them real, eventually making us deeply happy and pleased. The fact that Argentina had contributed so richly to the world of finely crafted and conceived automobiles makes us proud to a great extent.
We’ve researched on them, we’ve worked out mysteries and recuperate from oblivion the creations of a couple of decades that marked the argentine taste for cars, their design and impacted on a sophisticated high market such as ours.
After these years of work and research we’ve not only gathered a lot of information but also we have made a lot of great friends who are also fellow collectors and car lovers.

We’re soon to open a new and interesting section in which we’ll be writing about real vintage car test runs in the Argentine routes. We’ll go around Buenos Aires and the rest of Argentina searching for great anonymous stories of sports and classic car owners who will like to share their stories with us, take our web friends from around the globe thru means of us and a detail documentation of the test run for a ride around their most favorite car getaway.

This is a brand new series of articles that will be specially advocated to road test of the same cars we love and treasure 50 years after they first rolled out of the shop!

Featuring Sports & Classic cars made, here in Argentina, ranging from the Estanciera to other rare local models, our articles will include exclusive photo-shootings, catalogue information and detailed comments of the actual car by its owners.

Please feel free to contact us directly for article and car model requests, as well as if you own your classic and sports or vintage Argentine car and would like that we go interview you.
